About the Canada Bay Cannons

The Cannons Alliance

The Canada Bay Cannons alliance was formed by neighbouring clubs Drummoyne Power and Concord GIANTS with the aim of providing youth footballers greater options for participation and performance when playing Aussie Rules.

Initially fielding teams in U12 to U14, the Cannons has expanded to include teams from U12 to U17 for boys, and all girls teams in U10-U18,.

Our goals from the outset have been based around performance & participation options.

The Canada Bay Cannons values a club culture that includes strong leadership, discipline, endurance and physicality with clean and decisive skills.

Volunteering

The Canada Bay Cannons is run by volunteers parents, for the benefit of their children.

We expect all parents to contribute to the running of the Club in some way. We recognise that not all parents can contribute time on a weekly basis and there are a number of occasional roles available.

Key Policies & Procedures

Child Protection

All Cannons team and Club officials in contact with children are required under the policy of the administrative Club to obtain a Working With Children Check. The Check involves a national criminal history check and review of findings of workplace misconduct.

The result is either a clearance to work with children for five years, or a bar against working with children. Cleared applicants are subject to ongoing monitoring, and relevant new records may lead to the clearance being revoked.
