The Canada Bay Cannons U15 Youth Girls suffered their first loss of the season to Glebe Greyhounds on Sunday afternoon at Jubilee Oval.
After a slow start, the match was evenly poised at quarter time. However, some strong defensive pressure, a well executed running game and some accurate goal kicking by the Greyhounds was the difference. The Cannons were bravely led by Captain Georgina and although the girls didn’t come away with the win, they fought hard all afternoon with some great tackling and super individual efforts along the way. The Cannons rallied in the fourth quarter with their trademark run and carry but sadly time had got away.
The good news is the Cannons get a chance to exact revenge next Sunday as we play a rematch against the Greyhounds back at Jubilee Oval. A great challenge for the girls who are more than capable of turning the tide and coming away with a big win!
